Don Sampson has been a builder and developer in southern Louisiana since 1978. Many of those years were concentrated in the greater New Orleans area. In 1997 Sampson Construction Co. began custom residential and commercial construction and development in the Mandeville, Covington, and Madisonville regions.

Donald R. Sampson, Jr., a second-generation homebuilder, became a partner in the company in 1999 and controls the day-to-day operations in the field as well as the administration. Since building a home is such a complicated process, it takes good management skills to keep everything moving smoothly.

Don Sampson, Sr. has been a member of the National Home Builders Association since 1982, served as President of the Greater New Orleans Home Builders Association in 1990. He served as President of the St. Tammany Home Builders Association in 2001 and was named "Builder of the Year" with the STHBA for 2001-2002. He was also named LHBA "Builder of the Year" for 2004. Don presently serves as Vice-President of the Louisiana Home Builders Association and will be the LHBA President in 2006.
